The country’s first marriage registration cruise ship set off on its maiden voyage Tuesday from the Pazhou Exhibition and Convention Center wharf in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province.

The newlyweds were treated to beautiful views along the Pearl River in the city’s downtown area after receiving their wedding certificate aboard the ship.

According to a statement issued by the Haizhu District Civil Affairs Bureau, the opening of the marriage registration office on cruise ships is aimed at further promoting the construction of a comprehensive and comprehensive wedding industry demonstration zone and a “happy island on the Pearl River.”

“It is also a testament to the Haizhu district government’s determination to work with local businesses to promote and modernize the wedding industry,” the statement read.

The cruise ship that issues special wedding certificates is jointly operated by the Guangzhou Civil Affairs Bureau, the Haizhu District Civil Affairs Bureau, the Guangdong Wedding Trade Association and Guangzhou Public Transport Groups Liner Co. Ltd.

Guangzhou Public Transport Groups Liner Co. Ltd offers specialist wedding products including ceremony planning, on-site decoration, photography & videography, and catering services to create a romantic wedding experience for all newlyweds on board.

The cruise ship also offers personalized customization services to meet the romantic needs of a variety of newlywed couples.

As reported, future newlyweds can reserve specific dates by calling the Haizhu District Civil Registry Office in advance to receive marriage certificates and arrange a special wedding ceremony on board the ship.

Since the beginning of this year, the Haizhu district government has closely integrated the wedding industry with the characteristics of the district’s hotel, catering, cultural tourism and transportation industries, after launching a series of unique outdoor marriage registration and certificate issuing offices.

In addition to registering marriages on cruise ships, Haizhu District has also set up special marriage registration centers in palace, garden and ancient Tang Dynasty styles and issuing marriage certificates in hotels, parks, historic sites and scenic spots in the district.

The Marriage Certificate Office is located in Guangzhou’s iconic 604-meter-high Canton Tower, commonly known as Xiaomanyao, or “slim waist,” and considered the tallest in the country.

The special marriage certificate centers, combining the romantic charm and cultural heritage of Guangzhou, have now become attractions for romantic weddings in Guangzhou, known as the “thousand-year capital of commerce”, attracting more and more new couples from across the country to experience unique marriage certificate and nuptial ceremonies, the statement said.
