Party units and members linked to the AIC scandal will be fully investigated

The Inspection Commission of the Party Central Committee announced on July 10 that it will continue to order Party committees and organizations at all levels to thoroughly conduct inspections and take disciplinary measures against Party organizations and members that have committed irregularities related to the Advanced International Joint Stock Company (AIC) case.

Hanoi (WAN) – The Inspection Commission of the Party Central Committee announced on July 10 that it will continue to order Party committees and organizations at all levels to thoroughly conduct inspections and take disciplinary measures against Party organizations and members that have committed irregularities related to the Advanced International Joint Stock Company (AIC) case.

In addition, the committee will monitor and issue instructions to provincial and municipal Party committees and their inspection committees to investigate those who show signs of guilt in the management and implementation of projects and tender packages carried out by Phuc Son Group Joint Stock Company and Thuan An Group Joint Stock Company, in accordance with the conclusions announced by the Central Steering Committee for the Prevention and Control of Corruption and Negative Phenomena.

Inspections will also be carried out if there are any signs of irregularities relating to the enforcement of civil judgments in specific locations.

According to Tran Van Ron, deputy chairman of the Inspection Commission of the Party Central Committee, in the first half of 2014, the commission ordered 20 localities and units to check the leadership, management and implementation of Party regulations and state laws on projects and tender packages handled by Phuc Son, Thuan An and related enterprises.

The commission conducted direct inspection of six Party organizations found to have committed irregularities and asked the standing boards and inspection committees of the Party committees of 10 provinces and centrally administered cities to conduct inspections of the civic affairs committees of the people’s committees.

During this period, of the 18,476 Party organizations and 107,165 Party members inspected by Party committees at all levels, 631 organizations and 1,767 members were found to have committed violations or deficiencies. Party committees at all levels also inspected 131 Party organizations and 922 Party members for signs of violations, of which 89 organizations and 804 members were found to have committed violations or deficiencies, and 43 organizations and 584 members were considered for disciplinary action.

Inspection commissions at all levels investigated suspected misconduct cases involving 804 Party organizations and 2,850 members, finding that 613 organizations and 2,390 members had committed misconduct or deficiencies. Disciplinary measures were considered against 95 organizations and 1,137 members. Of these, the Inspection Commission of the Party Central Committee took disciplinary measures against 79 Party organizations and 95 Party members under its jurisdiction. It also recommended that the Party Central Committee and its Political Bureau and Secretariat take disciplinary measures against 10 organizations and 17 members./.
