Raavi Announces New EP, Presents New Single “Henry”

Brooklyn artist Raavi Sita has announced a new EP, Prossharing single ‘Henry’ along with the news. It’s due out September 13th via Mtn Laurel Recording Co., and the band will hit the road with labelmates Sister ahead of the release. Listen to ‘Henry’, which features The Nebulous Quartet, below.

“’Henry’ is an exploration of the many experiences I had with boys in my formative years,” Sita explained in a statement. “It’s about realizing that the boys and men in my life didn’t just see me as myself, but primarily as a girl. I grew up as an androgynous person, able to act like a chameleon to fit into my male and female friend groups with a relative fluidity in which my boyish gender expression, while definitely acknowledged by my peers, also gave me the freedom to exist in both gender worlds to a certain extent. At some point, that reality came crashing down on me. I experienced what I think a lot of gender nonconforming kids go through, because I went from being seen as Raavi to Raavi as a girl, with all the implications that comes with being a girl.”
