Washington Township man sentenced to 12 years in prison for shooting that killed wife – Macomb Daily

A Macomb County judge says the actions of a man who went on a shooting spree that left his wife dead damaged her life and the lives of her family for generations to come.

Macomb County Magistrate Court Judge Matthew Sabaugh addressed Matthew Mollicone, 48, Wednesday before sentencing him to 12 to 40 years in prison for the attempted murder of Kimberly Mollicone’s ex-lover and additional time for other crimes in a shooting at the man’s Ray Township home almost exactly two years ago. He was also sentenced to about 3 1/2 to just over eight years for involuntary manslaughter in his wife’s death, which will be served concurrently with the attempted murder sentence.

“You had everything and you blew it. It’s really unfortunate,” Sabaugh told Mollicone as he stood before him and a courtroom filled with family and friends, his wife, Kimberly Mollicone. “The damage you’ve done is unimaginable — the damage you’ve done to your family, both families, today and generations to come; generations will pay the price for your actions that day.”
