Ntsiki Mazwai responded to the video, calling it strange and asking if she wanted the department to pay for her family as well.

Why Makhadzi feels like a victim of the department

Makhadzi was very emotional when she spoke on the matter and denied that she was a beneficiary of any government programmes.

She appealed to the department to release the names and shame those who stole their money and to keep her name out of the case.

“They want to manipulate me and use me as an example. I didn’t eat any money, they have to reveal the names of the people who ate the Department’s money and those who were financed. If I have to pay for it and die, then fine.”

Mzansi defends Makhadzi against Ntsiki’s claims

People understood Makhadzi’s video and came to her defense against Ntsiki Mazwai, accusing her of trying to force her views.

@nurse_thapelo said:

“Makhadzi is a superstar, she is very talented and she works hard. Her hard work got her to where she is today, not her connections. She is booked because of her talent, if you had talent you would be booked. If she was yellow and thin you would say that is quite a privilege because Mona Ntsiki.”

@wmacgwenzi defended:

“She says she doesn’t want money… She’s solving SAR’s problems and had to borrow money from mashonisa because she doesn’t expect/know the government can help. She expects the government to help other struggling artists, not her.”

@mrlechesa says:

“No, Ntsiki, no! She’s not to blame. There’s funding for this kind of thing and if she applied she probably would have got it, and I think she has a taxi. Unfortunately the ANC’s policy on doing associated concerts should be taken into account.”
