ITALY. Autogrill, part of global travel services provider Avolta, has partnered with Aeroporti di Roma (ADR) to open Terrazza Eataly at Rome Fiumicino Airport.

The 250sqm open-air venue is an extension of Autogrill’s Eataly concept, launched in May 2022 in Terminal 1. It is located in the area reserved for flights within Italy and to Schengen destinations.

Terrazza Eataly’s menu includes a selection of hot, cold and seasonal dishes, charcuterie and cheese boards and pizzas. The drinks menu includes a selection of Italian wines and cocktails.

It joins the terminal’s diverse gastronomic offering, which includes 20 bars and restaurants.

The launch was celebrated with live entertainment, featuring a DJ and a bartender who created a special cocktail, “Nuvola”, for the occasion. Among the distinguished guests were ADR Commercial Director Marilena Blasi, Avolta Italy F&B CEO Massimiliano Santoro and Avolta Italy F&B CEO Luca D’Alba.

Blasi said: “We are excited to launch this next step that will enhance our increasingly exclusive, engaging and comprehensive food and beverage offering. This new, evocative location underscores our commitment to developing the retail offering at our star airport, providing passengers with a premium travel experience.”

D’Alba added: “The opening of the new Terrazza Eataly reflects our growth strategy in the airport sector, reinforced by the integration with Avolta.

“We are strengthening our partnership with Eataly, with whom we share a deep commitment to innovation and the continuous development of diverse and top-quality offers, highlighting the best products made in Italy.

“With Aeroporti di Roma we are expanding our presence at Fiumicino Airport, reaching a large number of international passengers and offering a special culinary experience for passengers who want to enjoy delicious food during their layover.”

Terrazza Eataly accepts reservations via the Aeroporti di Roma website using the “Book a table” option. This is a new service introduced by ADR as part of the digitalization of the airport’s commercial offer.

The opening of the café follows Costa Coffee’s successful debut in Italy in April and reflects the growing partnership between Autogrill and the airport management company.

The British coffee chain is located in Terminal 3, Departures Hall – Satellite.
