First reactions on social media Whirlwinds are out and are very positive, so it looks like July will be a good month for theaters. This one probably won’t have any trouble finding an audience, but Universal seems to be focusing more on the behind-the-scenes aspect than the actual clips from the movie. That’s fine, and with a movie like this it’s really interesting to see how they imitate and recreate some of the most incredible and dangerous storms that naturally occur. Today they released another new featurette that focuses specifically on the creation of these storms and we get to see what the cast went through to make it look realistic. As the star Glen Powell explained that the idea was to “blur the line between visual and practical effects.” Anyone who’s ever been hit by high winds knows there’s nothing like it, and we can only imagine that the impact isn’t as diminished when you know those winds are coming from a jet engine.
